After a somewhat extended break from photography I’m back at it again with a Sony Alpha A7iv. After shooting with APS-C - Canon - and Micro 4/3 - Olympus - I wanted to move to a full frame camera and Sony it was. Love the build and look of the A7iv. So far I have the f/4 24-105mm and the f/2.8 90mm macro lenses but like most photographers I have OCLD - obsessive, compulsive lens disorder. However the ones I have at the moment meet my needs as much as the f/2 50-150mm GM makes me drool :oops:. Looking forward to reading other people’s experiences and tips.:)

Welcome to the forum.

I got back into photography about 2 years ago as I prepared to retire from my day-job. I was a Canon shooter, but switched over to Sony with the A7R4 and a handful of zooms, the:
  • 16-35 f/2.8 GM;
  • 24-70 f/2.8 GM II;
  • 70-200 f/2.8 GM II OSS; and more recently
  • 200-600 f/5.6-6.3 G OSS
  • 400-800 f/6.3-8.0 G OSS
And yes, OCLD is a real disease, just ask my mouse finger hovering over the buy button for the 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Lens. I really like the GM lenses, but they do stack up in terms of bulk, weight, and price. I have been enjoying landscape, family, astrophotography, and wildlife photography. Now, looking to go out birding.
