Hello everyone,
So it seems I am now a Sony user after seeing an open box deal at the camera shop. I’ve just got a Sony A7iv with 24-105mm f4 lens and the nifty fifty 50mm f1.8 to get me started.
Trading in my m43 OM1 with various lenses including 300mm f4 next week for the Sony 200-600mm and 70-200mm f4. I shoot mainly birds, trains, mushrooms and most other things except people. A bit of landscape too, after all I live in Yorkshire and it’s quite pretty round here. Was in Nikon full frame land before m43 but was never really happy with the OM1 image quality, too many compromises.
I’ve customised my new camera to my liking and had its first run out tonight. Looking on the back of the camera it’s already a huge jump in image quality over the OM1, especially in low light. I love how customisable the Sony is already.
I think I have broken Santa already this week so I doubt I will be on his list for deliveries but you never know. If he is reading this I have an eye on the 50mm f1.4 and 20mm f1.8 for Christmas or next year sometime.
