I hate to spoil your fun but I hava a friend who has horses.
People have organized hotels for dogs who lose it when the sky is falling.
Imagine you have fifteen horses who think it is My Lai or worse...so he gives them extra food, leaves the lights on and puts on some music.
I love fireworks but boy did I feel sorry for the good bhoys who were trembilng and whining because...their ears!

The Chinese (who else) have transformed the New Year light shows into performances involving thousands of thrones.
No more bang-bang.
The Chinese still eat dogs, let's not forget that.

We have a large park/sports area just behind our house, unfortunately this means on New years Eve we are subjected to about 4 hours of random illegal amateur fireworks peaking at midnight. Our two rescue dogs absolutely freak out. Nothing we can do about it but it does make for a very long night.
