ILCE-7iv. Firmware update 6.01

Hi, can anyone help? I have firmware 6.00 installed and my firmware is asking for version 6.01. I download it from Sony support site on my laptop, move it to the route directory of my formatted memory card. I place the card in my slot 1 of my ILCE-A7iv but in my software - version tab it doesn't recognise the update. I get a message saying: there is no card in slot 1, there is no update file on the media card or the file is damaged. I've tried 3 memory cards. Do I need to upgrade from 6.00 to 6.01?

There was a problem for some (a lot) of A74 users with firmware version 6.00 and Sony pulled the update. I'm guessing that 6.01 is Sony's replacement. If you have version 6.00 successfully installed you don't need to install 6.01.
