"Into the Quiet"

This morning I awoke to a blanket of fog and made my way to a local woodland. The soft veil of mist wrapped itself around the trees, gently muting the world into silence.

I was drawn to this composition where the foreground tree, touched by slightly more contrast, stands calmly amid the soft, retreating layers of trunks and foliage behind it.

A peaceful moment suspended in stillness.

I love the mood on this!

I need to force myself to get out and take more pictures when the weather (or light) is less than optimal. There's almost always something interesting out there, you just have to find it!

In woodland photography I love this type of weather as it helps to simplify the scene and create a softening effect.

Last time I had fog in my area I was excited to take some woodland shots. I only ran into one minor issue with it being that the fog seemed to be very local in that it didn't extend to the wooded area less than a mile away.
