Voting ends: June 28th at 3am Eastern Time (9am GMT)

Shot Taken Date
Images can be taken anytime, there is no restriction like we had in 2024 for images to be taken in the current or previous two months.

What Do I Get if I Win?
I'm afraid now it's just the joy of taking park, but I will look into adding a special profile banner to winners profiles. In the past there have been vouchers for 1st and 2nd places, but we want to try and encourage people to enter without dangling a voucher code in front of them.

How to Enter + Rules
  1. Post your entries in this thread by scrolling down to the reply box then hitting the 'upload images' button. Insert image as full not thumbnail.
  2. Sony cameras only.
  3. Camera metadata must be included in the images to verify.
  4. Only one photo entry per member.
  5. Keep the photos clean and family friendly.
  6. Please don't use sky replacements or AI image generation.
  7. You are free to change you image during the entry period.
  8. Not essential but it would be nice if you added a little background information on your entry.
How to Vote (when voting opens)
  1. Use the vote button (up arrow) to the right of the post (below post on mobile) to vote up images that you like
  2. You can vote on as many images as you like apart from your own

Lochan nan Cat.

On Friday I was on a hike over 3 Munros to celebrate my 57th Birthday and on the descent from the summit of Ben Lawers, this incredible view unfolded before me. Lochan nan Cat lay cradled in a mountainous amphitheatre, with An Stuc rising prominently to the left ( my last munro during my hike) with shadows being cast from clouds above down onto the cauldron that surrounds the Lochan.
I framed the composition with lichen-covered rocks in the foreground to echo the region’s rich geology, and I was drawn to the three clusters of weathered grasses, soft and bleached by wind and time, standing out gently against the harsher terrain.

The Eternal City.
This is a three image pano of Trajan's Forum and Market, Rome. The Market is the area to the right and the forum is just left of centre. The column just left of centre is Trajan's column. The site dates back to AD110.

This is my first post here so please pardon me if I get a few things wrong. This shot is typical of what I enjoy the most, a night shot in my City of San Francisco. The mission is predominately an Hispanic neighborhood, and this theater is older than I, 75.

Well done and thanks to everyone who entered and voted in our Land and Cityscapes competition this month. As usual there have been some terrific entries.
  • 1st place with 4 votes was @Alan Clark with a lovely infrared shot of Canary Wharf in Central London.
  • 2nd place with 6 votes was @Landshark99 with a stunning vista of Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierras.
  • 3rd place with 2 votes was @BrianN with a cracking shot of Lochan nan Cat in Scotland taken whilst celebrating his birthday.
Of course it hopefully goes without saying that everyone who enters here is a winner and I really appreciate you all taking the time to participate in these monthly competitions.

The theme for our competition this month will be At Home which will be starting shortly.
