Greetings everyone.
I've recently stumbled across this site so thought I'd join as I hope it is a good place to pick up any help and tips from others when using my Sony cameras.
I purchased a Sony A9 back in 2019, just as the mk 2 came out and the price dropped. I didn't think the price difference warranted paying the extra for the mk 2.

3 months ago I decided to treat myself to the Sony A1 MK 2. The reason was I wanted the new AI Autofocus system, in particular the bird eye AF and tracking that the A9 didn't have. I missed quite a few white tailed fish eagles in flight when we were in Kenya on our 2022 safari - I'm currently looking to go back in around 12-18 months time so wanted a camera that could handle bird (and animal) photography better. TBH I didn't get it for the 50mp, I was happy with the 24mp of the A9 and had concerns about increased noise levels at higher ISO. I considered the A9III but I think this was a bit too specialised for my needs so decided I'd get more benefit from the A1 MK 2. I'm hoping that over the next 12 months I'll get to know my way around the camera and be able to get the best out of it on our trip.

Lenses I have the 24-105mm - 35mm F1.4 - 85mm F1.4 - 135mm F1.8 - 100-400mm and 200-600mm lenses.

I tend to shoot street, sport, music events, nature. I'm from Birmingham UK and often go into the city of a weekend for a stroll round with the camera when I'm not photographing the local rugby team.
