On the 11-06-2025 the wife started her treatment and she wanted to do it on her own so I took this time to do some birding.
I was taking shot and I went to roll the lens out to get to a bird in the focus a little more.
When I started to roll it out the 2 parted company and I had the camera in my hand and the lens was hanging around my neck.
I have to lens connected to the camera strap as I got told this is better for the connection point in the long run.
What I can work out is over time my knuckles have been pushing on the lens release button and when I went to roll the lens
out more I push the button that released it.
It has been a pet hate of my with the camera from the day I got it as I think it is in a stupid position right there on the major
hand grip of the camera. I have not got overly large hand but they must be bigger than the designers. The release button
should be on the other side as I think. I have had it in my mind and it has taken till now for this to happen and I knew this was
going to happen one day and it now has.
I was in luck and no damage happened to the camera or lens. All I done was turn it off and put it back together and continues on
my way. But I hope that Sony has looked at this fault for the newer camera out now. But it is now something to take more
notice of as the camera ages maybe then button isn't as strong as it was when new.
