Leofoto just announced a tripod that goes to 2.9m high…

I dunno about you, but a tripod that extends to 2.9m high has never appeared on my wish list

Maybe if I was on a staircase and wanted two legs several stairs down?

What uses might you imagine for it?

I suppose you might mount a camera in it to shoot “behind the scenes” footage?

I do think it’s impressive that they made it pack down to 750mm, and around 3.5kg.

A lot of Highland landscape photographers want tall tripods. Often shooting on hillside gradients necessitates one leg being extended a lot further than the others. They also need rock solid steady due to the weather conditions up there.

That is huge though.

My first thought is event videography, but you would either have to "set it and forget it" or use some sort of remote control. That is comically tall...

He's about half the height of the tripod, so he might be 1.5m tall. But yes, I think this image might be a tad exaggerated. I'd be willing to give them a pass on that because it's for comic effect, and it works

Ha Ha, I love it.

But I want one that goes to 11!

( i was with a friend looking at some Leophoto stuff, the other day. He does birds, so outdoors use was the thing. They seem to have a strong range. The guy said that they even have one which is made to be ok even with salt water. Nice stuff)

On a good day, the Sony Cr'app is pretty good.

Another friend was showing off pics where he left the camera near to where he expected a bird, and retired behind a bush, using the app for comtrol.
