Today I was in a woodland in West Linton with a fellow photographer that lives there, I saw the most beautiful arrangement of fungi and had to lie down on the muddy leave covered ground to get this perspective.

Great shot. It was worth it. Anyway, you guys in the UK would be used to lying on wet leaves and muddy ground I would have thought...

The UK is not as wet as you might think. Every Australian state capital gets more rain than London!

For some reason the under site of a mushroom is mostly far more interesting then the top:) Nice pic.

I don't know where you got your info from but Adelaide, Melbourne and Hobart all have lower annual rainfall than London.

Anyway, my comment was more tongue in cheek than anything.

It depends on who you ask, but according to Google:
Adelaide 550mm
Melbourne 649mm
Hobart 626mm
London 585mm

So similar to Adelaide but less than the other two. Also drier than Malta and Rome.

Australian Bureau of Meteorology:
Adelaide 547mm
Melbourne 518mm
Hobart 569mm
If you like rain - Darwin 1812mm. It only rains for six months a year though. The rest of the time it is sunny and 32° every day.

This is interesting though. Rain free days per year:
Adelaide 284 days
London 200 days

This is even more interesting. Average rainfall every year over the last five years (roughly).
London:
2019 654mm
2020 665mm
2021 653mm
2022 540mm
2023 759mm

Adelaide:
2020 471mm
2021 505mm
2022 612mm
2023 588mm
2024 347mm

So, it's up and down all over the place. I wonder how many years they go back to measure the actual average yearly rainfall.
