As the weather was nicer we made a specific trip back to Watlington Hill to photograph the stunning Red Kites with a nicer backdrop of blue skies. The birds really do fly so close, as you will see from some of the focal lengths displayed on some shots. I've picked 15 favourites of 40 odd kept from the day. My favourites of these are the head on and the diving shots. BTW, the RIV and 200 600 are no slouch when it comes to this.

Cracking shots again Kev, well worth going back for! Definitely the diving shot second from last is my favourite. Love the wing position, you can still see the eye, and it's nice to have the countryside as the background in there too. Nice work! :)

Thanks Tim. I'd have liked some more over the countryside, but it was such a hot day the haze killed most of them. Still nice to get them with blue skies, and it kept the ISO down.

I think I'd melt if I went out shooting now, I'm not a hot weather person! I need to get up my local Malvern Hills to check if the peregrines are still about. I've not been up for over a month as an old foot injury started playing up. How's everything going with the move?

Fkn slow! Getting quite impatient to be honest. Supposed to be first week of August but that's looking unlikely at the moment. As for the weather, Yes, far too hot at the moment. Saturday, when these shots were taken, wasn't too bad, nice breeze on the hill. I went to Knepp Monday and it was like the Gobi desert.

Same here. I just received some follow-up enquires from our buyers solicitors that I originally replied to over 4 weeks ago! Our sale is approaching 3 months now, we hope to complete mid-August but I'm not holding my breath. Although our purchase won't be till late August or early September, so we will be homeless for a few weeks if we do complete mid-August! It looks like rain on the weekend, we will be missing the sun soon! :)

Yep. We've been told that our buyers solicitors are still waiting for replies to local searches, which can only mean they didn't start them when we sold in April. Today we've been told the buyers want a home buyers survey and that they haven't yet released the funds for their deposit, which has really annoyed us, as it was all supposed to be in place. We have given our estate agent a good talking to today, they assured us all of her finances were sorted.

If they did start them in April that's a hell of a wait! Think it took ours around 4 weeks to come back. We had a level 2 home survey done, they can take a while to arrange as most surveyors are busy, so hopefully they get that ordered asap. Heard from our sellers yesterday and they are also waiting forever to get enquiries answered, apparently over 20 outstanding! We might still be hoping around AirBnb's at Christmas at this rate!

What a great set of shot you have got yourself there.
This is where I want to get I just got to do a little more tweeking to get there I think.
And then if they turn out like this I will post the 2 time (just Kidding) But I would be really happy.
So very well done on these as you really give me a target to aim for.

Absolutely daft. The survey is now next week, though our conveyancer reckons we can move second week of August. I'll believe it when I see it in writing.

Fingers crossed for you Kev. We are looking at the 3rd week of August to move out, then sometime early September to move in. I'll also believe it when it's in writing.

Fingers crossed for you. Man it's damned frustrating. The only nice thing is I've now finished work :)
