Hi all Alphashooters members, i am new in this forum and i hope i enjoy here or have nice time and fun and learn/share as much i can.

My name is Tareq A., I am from United Arab Emirates, and Arabic is my main language but i will try to use English as much i can, i am not fluent but i use it for long time now.

I started photography back in 2005, maybe 2004 when i bought my first digital camera which was just a device of 3-1 that is including a camera [mp3 and a radio], but then i upgraded to a Nikon Coolpix 8800 to be my first ever dedicated digital camera, when i was a kid i used those disposal or instant films for just travel not as a hobby or anything, so maybe my love to photography came from that, during 2005 after i graduated from university in 2004 i joined a course about basic photography, and a lady lecturer highly recommended to get a DSLR and she recommended Canon 350D, so i saved money from my job and bought that camera, now time moved quickly until 2014 when i bought my first Sony camera and first mirrorless camera, A7R, after that time i didn't buy any digital camera except those for astro as i stopped photography and entered astrophotography in 2017, last year 2024 after 10 years of my lefty my job and bought Sony camera i got a new job and an income increased, so now i am thinking about either selling my Sony A7R and go latest model or keep it and buy latest not a problem.

I do landscapes, cityscape, still life, portraits sometimes when possible, and macro if i have some subjects but not insects, also sports, i have so many Canon cameras after i bought my 350D, sold one, lost one, and some still with me, i used them mainly for everything, but then i use Sony for anything except sports or action because it isn't a fast camera, and i only have one lens which is 55mm kit lens, later i might add more once i buy a newer version of Sony, i don't want to leave Canon completely, but i don't mind Sony as one of main cameras, brands reliability isn't a must for me, also i have to say that i also have a digital medium format, and because of it i also pushed myself to get in film with medium and large format, mainly after 2009 when i visited USA and bought few parts of film cameras and some films too, but i stopped photography as i mentioned, hopefully to be back, i had bad situations between 2010 until 2024, but i don't need to tell my whole life story and events, just i got older and busy in life, but my love didn't die, and i hope i will be back to photography either from Sony gate or whatever brand gate.

Sorry for this long introduction, i am a member in so plenty of sites and forums, i just don't stop joining new ones to learn and enjoy, sometimes late to know those sites being around since a while, and for any further details from me don't hesitate to ask me and i will answer as much i can.

Forgot to thank the admin who approved my request of joining, i appreciate that a lot, also i hope that i can follow rules, but i don't promise that i will be so active a lot here as i am busy in life and still didn't get back to photography [even astrophotography i stopped for just a while to manage myself], so maybe that will help me not breaking rules if i am not active, in all cases please inform me if something wrong happened, remember, the language barrier sometimes making those kind of problems and misunderstanding issues, thanks again.

I only have so old images from my cameras, i might post them until i can have something new.

We have good skies for astrophotography, only light pollution is the main issue, but we have clear skies and good seeing, so mostly i can do solar system or planetary easy, while deep space is a big challenge, but i don't give up.
