The sun poked out for a few hours this afternoon for the first time a what seems like ages. Left work and got home early enough to just catch the last of it, still needed ISO 2000 toward the end as the clouds rolled in again.

Some of these were on my newly constructed natural looking tray feeder.

Excellent shots. Love the Redpoll(?). That's what we call those birds.

Tim with the numbers you are getting I dont think I would have managed any keepers, were you hand holding the camera and lens because if yes even more of a win for you

Lovely shots Tim. Good job with the new setup too! Nice and sharp for 1/160th as well! :)

Thanks! It's a House Finch over here. I'll be perfectly honest, I never even knew they existed until I took a shot of one and realized there was red on it. I must've seen them plenty, just never paid attention. The brown stripey bird in the second shot is the female

Thanks! Yes, handholding. The M4 IBIS is definitely improved form the earlier models.

Did a search out of curiosity. Two different birds, and evidently the House Finch is not native to my area but was introduced by importing them from Mexico and the SW United States, sold as 'Hollywood Finches' in New York in the 1940's.

I made the mistake of looking at these when I first woke up and they looked blurry...

Now they look great! 🌞

I'm getting old...
