Once again on a pilgrimage to this place, the conditions were all wrong. Storm Emelia had just passed through, the light was weird and everything was very distant due to the increased water levels. As always, though a magical place.

I really should stop taking pictures of little Egrets.

It's not the first time I've seen flamingoes doing their courtship dance, but the first time I've managed to be close enough to get a shot. These were still quite distant though, so, quite a crop.

There are some massive flocks of Glossy ibis around here and trying to squeeze them in with a 600, is impossible. Add to that, they're in winter plumage, it was dull and they're tricky to expose anyway, well, here they are. These were amongst a flock of around 200 birds.

Again, I've seen these display fights before, but first time I've captured them. Shame, the one on the left appears to have an infected eye. Anyway, it's nice to see these displays in the wild.

Great photos despite the conditions. It seems you have my luck. The only guarantee for me when traveling to a “good” place is to meet some other photographer who says “The conditions are not great today but you should have been here yesterday.” 😩
