So I had a 'hot pixel' show up tonight in my A1II. Strangely, it was only present in the EVF, not the rear LCD or on photos. I was initially just going to ignore it, but it was glaringly obvious and quite annoying. So after consulting The Google (and the manual) I did a pixel mapping. Problem solved.

My question: Is it generally recommended to enable Auto Pixel Mapping or just do it manually when necessary?

Next, the manual says "We recommend that you perform the operation once every three days." Wow! Any ideas why this needs to be done so frequently?

I do it manually now, and you have reminded me my A1 needs mapping . I tend to notice hot pixels more in low light ie night shots
