PSMS for Moon

Since getting a star tracker, I've been wanting to try taking a 4-shot PSMS image of the moon on the tracker (using lunar tracking rate).

Here are (2) 1:1 crop images of:
1) the PSMS higher-res image
2) one of the four frames that was used to make the PSMS image

There is clearly some improvement which highlights the detail we lose when using Bayer sensors.

Unfortunately, my longest lens is 200mm so the moon is a tiny fraction of the frame.

I can't think of a scenario for using PSMS for moon + landscape photos, so this experiment isn't that interesting for landscapes.

Pixel shift is a neat idea but in practice there are not that many great uses for it. Landscape seems like a good use until you see how much things actually move between frames. Still life is probably the most common use but how much can you really improve vs say focus stacking? I think the ideal use for it is in replicating artwork.

I did use it in the past for some landscape shots at night in place of intervalometer since that wasn't available. I honestly had forgotten about this function until I read this post.
