I was trying intentionally to use slower shutter speeds to try and get some motion blur. Didn’t really work that well. Will try again with big planes in the future. And the poor guy in the rowboat had a control failure and had to borrow a boat to retrieve his plane!

A bit slower than the real thing but much smaller too. I bet photographing them was great fun!

It was indeed. What I really want to do is go to a track day and get some cars/motorcycles with slowish shutter panning shots. Never tried but they look really cool. The President of the club flying has a pelican plane. :D

That first seaplane shot came out good.
 
Thanks! I think from now on I’ll just up the shutter speed and get sharper shots. The panning didn’t really work out that well. Could get better background blur via DOF. Was fun to try though. :)
