ST do you do post processing.....?
Not a criticism but if you are using light room or photoshop for birds with black heads /eye areas it can help to lift the blacks a little to define the eye

Your images is great as is but maybe its something to consider....

After I had done some light processing, including lifting the shadows and blacks a little - this is the image I originally posted
