Hi Guys
I have had many rolling shutter issues while recording thunderstorms but have not seen the type of video distortion seen in the following video. Looks as if only the left half and center of the video was affected and not the right side. I mention this because the rolling shutter issues I have seen in some of my recordings will stretch horizontally across the affected part of the image.

The flash that is seen in this video was not the result of lightning so the source could be a distant bright meteor or maybe an explosion.
Here is an example of a typical rolling shutter issue that was recorded during a Red Sprite event.
Here is what I captured in the video in question.
