Sigma 24-70 2.8 DG DN Problems Anyone?

Hey! I am using the above lens and I am having focusing issues. Sigma swapped it out for a replacement for me but it is no better. I still have focus issues when people are moving, improved when they are still. And interestingly if the person has face jewelry such as a nose ring and is moving such as walking ,well then it is bad! Anyone have similar issues? It is really unusable for me since it is unreliable. I also have the nose ring problem with my Sony 70-200 and cannot use it for those people...a greater # of missed focus shots.

Which body Stacey?

Give us some example failure shots with settings.

Is there nothing in focus or the wrong thing? Are you using eye AF when a nose ring throws focus off?

Which firmware version do you have installed for the lens? There was an update back in Feb that addresses some issues: https://www.sigma-global.com/en/download/lenses/firmware/

I don't have any experience shooting people with nose rings but it's the first I've heard about them throwing the focus off. Like Ziggy says, are you using Eye AF?

Mine has been rock solid, no AF issues at all and the IQ is amazing...
