a huge decline in the little birds this year compared to last year here in the uk

Thanks Kev they are ok, we have had so few small birds this year in our part of the country in fact the Goldfinch is the only one I have even had a chance at snapping

Great set of pics. The bird numbers are down up here as well Gary. There is a view going round that bird flu may have hit the small birds as well but because of their size you don't notice the bodies in the leaf litter/under growth.

Iain I know talking to people when out shooting the thinking is as you say the bird flu hit the small birds hard
