Hello everybody, my new to me Alpha 7C did not come with any cables. I have a newer laptop that only has USB-C ports and I noticed that the original charge/data cable that came with the a new a7C is a USB-A to USB-C cable. Anybody have a good USB-C to USB-C cable to suggest? JIm

The great thing about USB C cables nowadays is that they are used for everything from phones to PCs, you really can't go wrong. You could get a simple Amazon basic USB-C to USB-C or you can get something you like the look/feel of more. I have been using the brand "Anker" they have a braided nylon exterior layer which seems to have held up nicely in my travels. I have USB cables and an SD card reader from them.

Just make sure that you get a DATA cable and not a charging cable. Data cables can charge but charging cables cannot transfer data.

Is that still a thing with USB-C?

Hey, I found out the hard way that not all USB-C cables are the same. There are several cheap cables out there that are only for charging and not for data transfer. There are even different data cables as far as how fast they can download. What a pain! jim

Thanks for the heads up on the C cables. I am going to check out the ZeroneTeck data cable. jim
They were the first ones that appeared on the amazon search so I can't vouch for them. I have ones that are "LDLrui" brand that are working (not sure if that is high praise). I know I got these because I need a couple of various lengths for things.
