So Sony announced a new camera - a low end member of the FX line, using the A7IV sensor, but with a tilting EVF.

A new camera that I can say without doubt that I'm most emphatically not going to buy.

It has received some luke-warm reviews.

luke-warm indeed.
I suppose the AI chip was the biggest enhancement?
Is that EVF more resolution than the A6700/A7CII/A7CR? I don't want the tilting screen, but sure would love if their next compact body refresh brought in higher resolution screens.

I think the new EVF is the same resolution, so the only change is the tilt.

The "AI" chip is obligatory on all new Sony cameras :)

I would definitely miss the tilty / twisty / turny rear screen - I so enjoy having it on the A7RV, A9III, A1 II. And the extra resolution of that screen makes it easier to check the focus in images (although I mostly check them in the 9.4Mdot EVF).

But to be fair, the FX2 is a heck of a lot cheaper than the bodies I'm comparing it to. It is pretty clear that the "omissions" are to price this camera appropriately.

I think there will be a market for it...
