Sony Lens Firmware Updates

Perhaps I'm late to the party, but I got a wild hair and decided to see if any new firmware had been released for my Sony lenses. So I head over to Tim's Complete List of Sony E-Mount Lenses & Latest Firmware in 2026 and a few clicks later see that Sony had a fairly large update for many of its lenses on 12/3/25. Included (for me) are the SEL24F14GM, SEL35F18GM, SEL 2470GM2 AND SEL70200GM2. I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend.

Attach lens to be updated
Set Camera's USB setting to 'Mass Storage'.
Connect USB cable between Camera and CPU
Launch specific updater for that lens
Follow prompts

Huh. My 100-400mm didn't need to be updated - I would swear it did.

I must be tired, so no more tech tonight. Last thing I need is something FUBAR on a Friday night.
