Several views of the Spanish Steps in Rome. I think (1) and (2) are my favourites.

1) Uncropped full frame, looking up the street approachng the Spanish Steps. I particulalry like the transition from the crowds on the horizontal to the crowds on the vertical. This was taken from well back along the approach road.

2) A tight crop of (1), cutting out the top of the stairs and the church. I particularly like the detail in the buildings flanking the road approach the stairs, including the lamps. This crop provides a stronger focus on the transition from horizontal crowd to vertical crowd. Check out the lady in red on the top right.

3) A horizontal pano of three images taking in the full width of the stairs.

4) A slightly larger crop of (1) compared to (2), including the top part of the stairs. Lady in red still there.

5) A vertical pano, taken from close up, comprising two shots.

First one. For the full effect you need the verticality and the surroundings that lead to the stairs.

Thanks

Thanks Dave and Alex, I appreciate your comments. I do like the first image, and you can still see the lady in red!

Completely agree, first photo captures the scene best.
