This is one of my favourite spots to visit in the early morning. Yesterday, these colours lasted for a few minutes, just before sunrise. Once the sun rose above the trees, it washed out the crimson in the sky.

Love it, especially that last shot. I see more sunrises than sunsets nowadays and its obviously the reverse for me: where the deep reds and pink cotton candy clouds come first (when clouds are ideal) then give way to yellow and become more mute with time.

I took this quickie HDR photo a couple of days ago from my living room deck. The two spots of water are Lake McClure NE of Merced CA which is a little low right now as it's an irrigation reservoir. Some tiny houseboats are visible on the left body of water. We live around 40 miles as the crow flies from a wildfire south of Yosemite Valley which is the reason there is noticeable smoke present. Processed in Lightroom. I did the best I could to replicate the lighting my eyes/memory recalled which is very difficult to accomplish when doing HDR.
