This zoo has enclosures so large that the fences, when used, are to keep the people in. Thus, way off in the distance….. a lion stalking ……

Two hours of entertainment. It’s the place to go and practice your safari skills. Some of these guys were a very long way away. The kangaroo had me in stitches. It broke into the zoo through the car park.

I also photographed some birds. On a different forum someone lampooned me for photographing birds in a zoo. Hilarious! The buggers fly in by themselves and disrupt the mock African savanna!

Some nice shots Gary, I guess big enclosures mean big lenses are required to get the most out of that zoo!

Nice selection

Definitely helps. I left my 200-600 on the whole time. The zoo has gone out of their way to introduce planting species that match the animals. Strangely there was only one enclosure where the exhibits could not be seen, and they were Australian Tasmanian Devils. The use of fencing was limited to the most predatory species, otherwise moats, embankments and electric fences protected us.

Looking through and found these zebras.

Having a swivel screen on the A7iv is very handy for getting down near the ground.
