Wow , nice photo's of a beautiful area, and also a real blast from the past for me. On my very first trip out of Australia, January '84, my cousin and I stayed a few days at a B&B in Rhayader. We crazily went out sight-seeing, and visited these dams. Somewhere in my archives there are a few slides of them with snow all around.

Beautiful dam! What a craftmanship - they dont build them like that anymore.

Great photos!

They certainly don't. Caban Côch, picture no 5 is one hundred and twenty-two feet six inches wide at the bottom. That six inches must make all the difference, or is that the width of a line on a slide rule?

A few more. I'm currently at the top of a hill in Shropshire and the wifi is a bit sporadic.

Awesome shots Dave! Elan Valley is a stunning place. I've only visited once myself but should really make the effort to get back there. The Shropshire Hills are beautiful but I may be a little bit bias since it has been my home for 2 years now :) Clee Hill and Catherton Common are worth a visit if you are in that area, lots of birds this time of year. Some short eared owls were spotted recently and there are curlews too. I'm away this week otherwise I would have been happy to show you some sights. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Nice

Impressive set of pictures. This seems an inspiring place for sure. I like the shots of the stone with moss and the yellow flowers, they look like they were captured with a macro lens even if they are not. Well done!
