They said the A7R6 could focus on things smaller in the image...

One of the features they mentioned in the press release for the A7R6 was that it could focus on things smaller in the image. I wasn't sure what they meant by that, but I think I have an interesting example.

Sansa the cheetah was relaxing under a favourite tree, and the only view I could get of her was through a gap under a fallen tree.

I thought that looked reasonably well focussed. Let's see it at 100%:

I'm willing to accept that as pretty decent auto-focus ;) Not an image I'm going to hang on the wall, but I thought you might be interested.

It was a bright sunny day, but she was in shadow (I've lifted the shadows a fair bit to show the resolved detail - no other editing)

Shot at 400mm on the 100-400mm f/4.5, at f/4.5, ISO 800, 1/1000 on the A7R6. The full frame image is 9984 x 6656, and the crop is 2048 x 1536.
