The white looks very like a bedraggled wet fluffy white dog (or possibly two) - I imagine it'e something like floral spinners caught in something sticky? Or was it really a dog or dogs? Cool photo!

I went back today and took another shot to get some more detail.

This is the seed head of a thistle (most likely Canada thistle or bull thistle) in the late stage of seed dispersal.

When thistle flowers mature and dry out, they produce dense clusters of silky white fluff called pappus. Each strand of fluff is attached to a seed (achene), allowing the seeds to be easily carried away and spread by the wind.

Oh, that definitely puts paid to my dog illusion.

In the original shot there are dark patches like a dog's eyes and nose next to the blue patch, and it looks like a dog starting a jump, with a second dog on its back.

But it's like seeing shapes in clouds...
