The Viltrox 35mm lens turned up yesterday. Two days before the tracking said to expect it, but I'm not complaining. I've only taken a couple of photo's indoors so far. It's a large lens for a 35mm focal length, and will not be winning any weight watchers awards. But that is what I expected. I'll post more as I use it, but as a starting point I took these two shots of out rescue pups, Red and Nash. Both images were shot hand held, indoors with just the incoming twilight through the windows for lighting.

This Shenzhen company has risen to a new level in lens making.
They seem to be doing things just to show that they can. That's nearly a kilo of glass for a 35 mm.
Your shots are beautiful, but I'm happy with my F/1.4 GM.
Do I need a 9mm or a 75mm APS lens? In case I did, Viltrox offers them at a reasonable price.
The Chinese are scary good!

My 16mm Viltrox is also large and heavy, but it's a compromise I'll take to get the extra light gathering for my astro shots. Much the same as my 200-600 the 2kg is what it is for getting flexible long reach. I looked seriously at the GM, but in side by side comparison the Viltrox pleased my eyes marginally more. I'm now waiting not so patiently for the chance to do some astrophotography with it.

Congrats on the new glass! Nice pics, too!

(BTW, What's with that f-stop - ƒ/1.2000000476837? Wow!)

I just received my Viltrox AF 16mm F1.8 today. Looks like they are giving Tamron and Sigma a run for their money...

Thanks, the f-stop thing seems to be related to the way ON-1 processes the metadata when it exports RAW to a downsized JPG. The RAW file just shows the regular numbers for f-stop, and I've not noticed it when I export Jpg's without resizing for forum use. There is probably some settings I could fiddle with to fix it, but I really can't be bothered. If it was some wildly out of range figure coming up then I might chase down the fix but for an inaccuracy of 0.0000000476837, not going down that rabbit hole.

Congrats on your new glass as well, I have really enjoyed my 16mm since I got it.
