Super informative. Thank you!

It does confirm my opinion that, for my very rare tripod moments, I'll stick with a pan/tilt.

I don't like ball heads at all. Give me a three way pan/tilt head any time. Having said that, a pan/tilt head is no good for a compact travel tripod. I bought a Ulanzi travel tripod last year and have found the compact ball head on that to be quite useable.

sold my 100-400. Just wasn't used and found I didnt like the external zoom with long swing across the focal range

Sold my A7CR.

It had been untouched since I got the A1II.

(Maybe I'll buy a new lens...)

While up in Norfolk I noticed some specks in the view finder so gave it a clean with a air puffer then done a auto image clean still specks so I bought a Pig Iron full frame cleaning kit swabs and cleaning fluid

Make sure to let us know how you go with that!

Bought a NiSi Wizard W-63 Camera Positioning Bracket for Sony which is kind of like a L-Bracket. This seems like the best solution for changing to portrait orientation when using my Benro Polaris.

I bought a JJC 52mm Metal Filter Adapter for my RX100VII and a set of 4 NEEWER 52mm Neutral Density Filters from Amazon.

I bought a JJC 52mm Metal Filter Adapter for my RX100VII and a set of 4 NEEWER 52mm Neutral Density Filters from Amazon.

I looked at the JJC website and I understand the adapter is attached with 3M tape? I'm curious - how does this stay attached to the lens when the RX100 lens retracts completely upon power-down?

The front of the lens doesn't retract beyond the front of the camera.

Hmmm. I'm looking at my RX100 and all parts of the lens is fully flush with the front of the camera (power off). So I'm still not seeing how the filter holder would attach...

No worries, thanks for your reply. My synapses do not always align correctly, and I suspect that's what I'm dealing with now.

I guess the double sided tape provides a bit of a gap. Two other companies made a similar thing but they are both unavailable now. They both used tape to attach also. There's not really any other way to do it unfortunately.

Ruggard Dry Cabinet (EDC-180LC) to store optics and electronics.

(On sale now at B&H, US$160.00 off!)

Just bought a second OWC 480GB CFeA v4 card - they are slightly faster than the Prograde, and the current pricing is quite attractive. Thought I'd get one before tariffs remove the price advantage (the good pricing is on Amazon US).

The "problem" with the A9 III and A1 II is that bursts and pre-capture mean capturing more images, so bigger cards are helpful (and v4 cards download much faster - I'm only using my v2 cards in the A7RV now).

I am starting to look for a larger NAS or DAS to accommodate the results...

I can't seem to stop buying things lately. I got a NEEWER Tripod Leveling Base.
