Good choice!

I really like my Viltrox 16mm for many of my cameras (Sony, Nikon, Leica). Fine quality, excellent results!

Also, please don't be afraid of 'cheap' lenses! Please read this.

Most of all.... Have fun!

Yep, I was thrilled to come upon this lens and I know it is going to quite useful to me. And, the price was RIGHT!

I don't know if this counts, but I just purchased a new bag that has wheels. I have often struggled with my camera bag and my other carry-on bag when boarding a plane, so now I shouldn't' have as many problems. I'll find out next trip...

DEFINITELY counts.

I bought the ThinkTank Airport Advantage well over a decade ago, and it is still going strong. One thing to watch is that the bag is not light (wheels, handle, etc), and if you fill it with lenses (glass, metal, etc) it can get quite heavy - quite like over the limit for cabin baggage on some airlines, so check the limit, and when approaching the gate make sure to act like it's "very light" ;) I got weighed one time, and it was well over, but I said (truthfully) that it had lithium batteries in it and must not go into the cargo hold - they let me through!

I just ordered a couple of the FDA-EP21 eyecups (the ones that came with the A1 II - the deep ones) from the Australian Sony spare parts distributor (Speedy Spares). They have been marked as "coming soon" since the A1 II announcement (November 2024!), but have finally arrived. Price is A$33, which is fine by me. They fit any Sony body which uses the FDA-EP19 eyecup.

B&H has had them a while, but now we can get them in Australia, and the shipping is cheaper :)

Thad,
Thanks for the advice. I don't think I knew they weighed the on-board bags. (I don't travel much.) I don't have too much gear...(yet), so I hope I am ok. Good for me to pay attention to though.

Great to use, and for me easy to lose! I tend to brush them off when I'm walking in the bush as they stick out from the camera back. Usually don't realize until I get back to putting the camera away.

I just ordered one too...

That was one of the reasons I thought people might want to know that they are available in Australia now

I only just checked Speedy Spares a little over a week ago...

I was tempted to buy a Lexar CFexpress Type A card from B&H - Petapixel had an advertorial about big discounts, and I checked it out - it's real. I could get a 1TB V4 card for US$850 with a US$400 coupon automatically applied = US$450. They also have a 640GB Lexar V4 card for $380.

Apparently the deal ends in about 6 hours...

But an 800GB NovaChips V4 card is US$299.99... And the 1.6TB Novachips is US$449 (same as the 1TB Lexar!)

I ordered the Novachips card ;)

You must have about 1,000,000TB of card storage by now!

you made me add it up! No, but I have over 8TB in cards. Means I do not have to clear a card immediately - a lesson I learned (twice over!) when I forgot to copy video files off a card after copying the stills. It was embarrassing the first time!

I do have a bunch of small V2 cards that I bought when CFeA was new. I will probably give a couple of the little 160GB cards to a young photographer who will be borrowing my A7RV.
