Looking for some advice on a purchase between these two lenses. There is the huge price gap and I am willing to go for the Sony if there is that big of a difference. I am comfortable with the overall build and image quality of both. My question centers on whether 12 vs 14 mm at the wide end is worth $1500+ USD. I believe this creates a 120 vs 114 degree field of view difference. I do want to stay with the versatility of a zoom. My purpose for the lens is travel interiors such as churches etc. and some artsy low angle shots with a close subject but capturing a wide view.

Awhile back I was unmovable in my belief of only using Sony glass on Sony bodies. Ditto for Nikon, Canon, etc...

I no longer hold that belief. Today, I have a variety of glass from Sigma, Tamron, Viltrox and Laowa. To my unprofessional eye, the results they produce are virtually undistinguishable from Sony. The build quality (especially for the Sigma Art and Viltrox Lab series) are up there with the Big Boys. Another interesting perspective.

Get the Sigma Art.
