As we reach the final day of 2025 and the close of this year, I wanted to share one last experience yesterday at Portmore Reservoir, I was treated to absolute calm, with crisp, clear air, not a breath of wind, and the water as still as glass.
The low winter sun cast its golden light across the landscape, creating beautiful pockets of warmth and contrast. Each element, bare branches, golden reeds, the gentle movement of swans, seemed to glow where the light touched, while the shadows deepened the sense of quiet and reflection.
This collection of images tells the story of that time in nature:
The way the light sculpted the woodland edge,
The sun bursting through the trees and mirrored in the water,
Simple reeds illuminated against dark water,
A single blade of grass catching the day’s first rays,
A birch tree glowing against the shadowed forest with the geese floating by.
And the gentle ripples of swans and ducks moving through golden reflections.
For me, these moments are a reminder to slow down and notice the quiet beauty that surrounds us, even in the depths of winter, even on the shortest days.
Thanks a lot @Tim Mayo for everything you have done in 2025 and I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year in 2026 and hope these images bring a little warmth and inspiration as we step into a new year.
