You bought yourself excellent kit. I have the lens and the camera though I had mine converted to a full spectrum as I really like Infrared photography. My "proper" cameras are a Sony A7RVI and a Hasselblad X2D II 100C.
I love Zeiss lenses, and I have all but one of the Batis range, I believe. I know I don't have the 18 mm, and I don't want it, but I do think I have all of the others.

Anyway, enjoy your camera, and remember there are two above your 4: a 5 and a 6. Not that I'm trying to tempt you or anything.

I'm new to the Sony Alpha world. I've been shooting Nikon for the last 25 years or so. Just bought a used A7R IVa and a 24-70 f/4 Zeiss lens. Mainly going to use the combination for landscapes.

For practice I took this picture off my front porch. Not very inspiring, but it's been so dang hot and dry in my part of Texas that there's not a lot of attractive scenery right now. Please don't judge my yard. Its been a couple of months since we had any real rain and we're on a community well with water rationing.

I'm blown away at the resolution. Even at 24mm there are details on the houses in the valley that would not be apparent with my Nikons.

This picture serves a dual purpose though. One is to try out the new (to me) camera and lens and second is to take a before picture. My wife and I are going to clear out many of the juniper trees in this picture so we have a less obstructed view.

Welcome, Colin.
I shot Canon for years. I think you will really love the Sony. It only took me 2 weeks to realize how much I feel the Sony superiority.
This group is the best to work with too.
