CC Welcome
  1. Yes
A mate sent me some shots of this pair. I notice how big they had got in the, close to 2 weeks of not seeing them due to a covid test followed by a weeks lock down then the thyroid operation.
So seeing the how they had grown I knew I had to push myself and go and get a few shots. As I walked closer I could see the proof of how regal these 2 had got with their plumage as they stood there in their nest.
I get the shots I wanted and then headed home with what I hoped were okay shots of them, as I am not big on looking at what I have got while out. 12-12-21

Good job, Ralph. Regal birds indeed.

Really nice. Lucky to have them as a wild species.

I have seen some old wedge tails, and they are nearly black. I was told that their feathers get darker with every moult, but I hadn’t seen really young ones.

Thank you for showing these.

The fella that run our local club has said that exact thing. And is a good way to tell if one of them have a lot of age to them just by ht e feather colour. And if he has said it I believe it as he has forgot more than I know.
I have seen a few close to black and this would make them older birds..
And I am pleased that these shot have been able to help you a little.
