Is anyone having any short battery life with their OEM battery and the 6700? Im getting about 200 images

Solution
Never had a battery problem with the 6700 in fact I thought it performed well.
I always turned on Airplane mode when not transferring images and camera off between sets and not used location services.
I use a card reader for file transfers. Sony is replacing it as defective. Thanks for the tip tho.

not me. I think the battery life is so good compared to the oem battery in my old a6400. Of course when I walk around with it, I either flick the power to off or allow the screen to go black (which I don't remember if that is a power saving setting I did, or it came that way).

Yeah I always turn it off in between uses. I’m gonna let it die all the way maybe that will reset it. 200+ pics is nowhere near what others are getting.

I don't often take as many photos as 200 in a single outing, but back in May, I took 569 photos in a single day, single battery charge, at Formula 1 Miami GP. Many of those were bursts of 5 or so photos at a time, but still more than you're reporting. CIPA rating for our camera is 550-570 shots on a fully charged battery. Perhaps your battery is a lemon?

Sony was not surprised to hear about it when opening a warranty case and offered no response on ways to fix it, so I think your right.

I don't have that camera but I also have mine in Airplane mode most of the time and always run my batteries flat in the camera.

Why airplane mode if your not using WiFi or Bluetooth?

When not using WiFi or Bluetooth the system can still be looking for it in stand-by when turned on. Even though the drain might be minuscule it all adds up.
Wow ok, I’ll add that functionality to my favorites. Thank you. I never knew that.

It depends how you are shooting. I could spend a couple of hours at my bike track and shoot 2000+ images before changing the battery. Or I could spend a day walking around with the camera ready to take photos and 200 odd would be more realistic. Then if it’s freezing cold you could reduce this number further. Reducing the time before the LCD turns off and camera powers down might help if you are not wanting to turn it off completely.

That tip of airplane mode helped, I'm a senior, so some things I don't think about but it now saves me 4 steps of turning everything back on LOL. I can leave it all on and then use the airplane mode to toggle.. My 6400s didn't have this option that I remember- thanks everyone :)

I use the same battery (FZ100) on cameras that consume more power than the A6700 (the A1 II and the A9 III) and I get thousands of images - and several thousands at that (at least over 6000).

Wow, I never owned a camera that could capture 6000 images from one battery. That's a winner :). Sony has deemed mine defective and is replacing it.

Glad to hear you are getting it replaced.
You should get well over 500 minimum single shots. You'll get lots more when shooting bursts.
