Wonderful picture!

Was this in the wild or at a nature preserve?

Excellent. Same question, as I have read that it's often staged these days.

Nothing staged. Very wild. We were cruising the waterways in the Pantanal for 10 days and the jags would come to the shores to hunt and sunbath. We saw them every day but not all sightings resulted in good images. That's why you do it every day, AM & PM. Lot's of exposure, and required plenty of patience. But the good images are worth it.

Fantastic stuff. If it didn't cost thousands...

Yeah, that's the tough part. But, it is a bucket list event and you do't do it every year! Thanks for the kind comment.

That's the tough part about deciding when to retire... Have I saved enough for Geezerdom AND to also satisfy my (growing) bucket list?

Answer: Not yet.
