I dread driving in the city with all the traffic but get away from it and seen from a distance, it's really attractive. Especially when there is snow on the mountains. Taken today, 2/22/2026.

I lived in Los Angeles for 5 years, a day this clear is a rare chance indeed to get the mountains in the background. Nicely done!

Years ago, before 9/11, I was in the homicide unit of the New Jersey State Police. This picture reminded me of something. We ran an annual seminar with detectives from all over the USA and several international attendees. We had access then to the Statue of Liberty after hours for a tour for the guests. While standing on the pedestal looking at New York City in a similar view to the photo, a guy from Charleston, West Virginia, says, how many people live in NYC. My sergeant says over 7 million. The guy says, we have 40 thousand in Charleston. My sergeant looks at him and says, there are that many people in NYC having sex right now. The guy from West Virginia just walked away; he didn't get NJ humor.

Great story. Thanks for posting. Just read it to my husband so we could both have a laugh.
