Hello all! Thanks for letting me join in the fun here. I'm a long time Sony shooter, starting with picking my up first Sony a230 in 2011. Since then I've upgraded to the a580 and then the a77ii. Just a couple weeks ago, I picked up my first mirrorless, the a6100. I have the LA-EA4 adapter ordered and on its way so I can use my old glass. I own a lot of really great old Minolta glass (28mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.7, 135mm f/2.8, 70-210mm f/4 "beercan", and the 80-200mm f/2.8 APO G) so I'm hoping to get a little more life out of those until I can afford some better E mount lenses. Currently I have the kit lenses (16-50 and 55-210).

I'm really impressed with the 55-210 as a kit lens. I remember my first kit lenses from the a230 and pretty quickly got away from them as the quality was iffy. The 55-210 does great work and I'm really happy with it so far!

My primary interest in photography are dogs...especially dogs in action. I photograph my own dogs and friends' dogs when they come over or we go for hikes. I also photograph the dogs where I take agility classes. A few recent photos:

This is my girl, Lea. Sony a77ii w/ Minolta 80-200mm; f/5.6, 1/1600; ISO500

And one fun shot of my dog Ben doing agility in the yard. I got into some fun wide angle agility photos this past fall when I was taking a class. This was shot with the Sony a77ii and my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens. It was set up on a tripod about a foot from the jump and taken using a remote shutter release that I was using while also running him. I plan to revisit this bit of fun this spring/summer to keep working on the concept. This was just a fun "sketch image" as I tried to work out the details. Shot at f/5, 1/3200, and ISO 2500.

Welcome! Love the shots of the doggos :)

Welcome and thanks for joining up here and introducing yourself Michelle. Great shots of some lovely looking dogs too, they are all adorable! I need to get my dog Frank doing a little more agility, although I'd rather not teach him to jump as otherwise he will be jumping the stair gates at home!

Thank you!

Amazingly, my dogs seem to recognize that agility jumps are different from gates and things in the house! But I do put up taller 3-4 foot gates these days just in case!
