People Black light

I'm part of a local Meetup group and in early March, we did a black light themed shoot. I had no clue what I was doing since I only started portraiture the week prior. This was certainly a challenging atmosphere. Trying desperately to have the settings just right was a challenge. The 2 different toned lighting just made it more interesting. Truly, a learning experience!

Pardon my ignorance. Is this the same as UV light?

Yes. It’s a type of dark purple visible light... what our eyes can see. We had 2 different types in the 2 areas we were shooting. The purple was very different from the other.
