I have just got an email saying there is £630 off the Sony A1ii this weekend at Camera World making the price £5669. If you have a topcashback account as well you might get 4.5% off the price as well for an online purchase. I have use this cashback website and it mostly works but not always guaranteed that it does. I have not used it for Camera World plus I am not sure if you'll get the cash back as it is an offer. Sony now seems to offer a +4 year warranty on the A1 ii.

Panamoz is still cheaper with a 3 year warranty at £4680, so do I but from them or get a UK model and pay more?

I am surprised to see such a difference in price in the UK. In the US the biggest difference I have seen is $500 USD, about 375 GPB. I purchased mine in September for $6999 USD, about 5250 GBP. I used the B&H Payboo card so I avoided $420 in sales tax, but that does not impact our smaller base price difference. Is that big a swing normal in your market?

A quick Google of new UK prices. All include taxes and delivery.

Wex £6298
Panamoz £4680
Camerista £4549
Einfinity £4759

There are no used models on Ebay or Facebook in the UK.

If I was in the market for one, I'd go with Panamoz, the 3 year guarantee being the breaker for me. £1618 pays for a week away somewhere using it.

I am shocked in the difference and hey, we’re supposed to be the capitalists, LOL.
US Google search in USD
Sony 6999
Wal-Mart 6539
B&H 6998
Camera Ex 6998
Adorama 6899
I am also surprised by the variance in warranty. In the US you get what Sony offers, 1 year and they are running a special with a free additional year when you register the camera. Purchasing an extended warranty gets expensive.

The 2 extra years warranty are nothing to do with Sony. I've never used it, but I believe it would be with one of their appointed repair centres.

Are your prices plus tax?

Yes they are before the national average sales tax (varies by state) of 7.5%. There are a few ways to avoid the tax, buy from B&H with their credit card or have a friend who lives in a sales tax free state (Delaware) buy it for you and shipped to them - technically illegal and could cause warranty/ownership issues. Since I am thinking of buying a 4 year extension, $500, I’ll do a little poll on the site for feedback and advice.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I will go with Panamoz, even though I'd like to support UK companies the price difference is too great to ignore (even though it is a great offer from Camera World). The spare money could go towards a 300mm f2.8 or replacing my 200-600 with a 400-800. They have great reviews and also reviews of people that have used their warranty service.

Just wondering are the Panamoz cameras gray imports.

I bought my A1 I from Cotswold Cameras. They currently have the A1 II for £4669.

I have bought 3 times from panamoz and the price is good and delivery is usually very fast 5-7 days for my A1, 7 days for the a75r and 24-70 g2, and 6 days for 300 2.8. I have only ever hear good things regarding servicing if you have an issue, fast and no hassle

Hi, I saw the Sony a1ii at a dealer in UK for a little over £4,600, I am considering it myself but will have to have a read up on the specs before making the jump, what's the trade in for the Sony a7riv 🤔.

Where might that dealer be if you don`t mind sharing?

It's Cotswold Cameras, sorry I don't have a link for you, because I'm not technically minded, it says it's a saving of £1630, hopefully if you Google Sony a1ii it should bring it up, a little over halfway down the page, on my phone anyway, hope you don't get the last one 😂 awe the best, let me know how you get on, think I bought a lens from them a few years back, no problems, I'm hoping to get one soon myself.
Regards Bob

I've owned the A7Riv and own the A1 and A1ii. Shooting wildlife on the A7Riv is fine but on the A1ii it is just a completely different activity. The speed differences between the A7Riv and the A1ii (or A1) is the deal maker. The speed of the AF and tracking on the A1ii is just vastly superior to the A7Riv. For birds in flight of medium sized birds (mallard size) on the A7Riv using the 100-400GM with shutter release set to AF a good outing would get up to 60% critical focus, with the A1ii I am hitting 90% with the release set to shutter. Then there is the FPS the A7Riv has a max of 10 and the A1ii has 30, people will tell you that doesn't matter but it does. There is one additional feature that the A1ii has that the A7Riv (and A1) doesn't and that is the 4-axis multi-angle LCD which is fantastic.
