Hope you don't mind me adding to your thread Gary, but I followed your example, and used my 200-600 for some landscape shots this morning. Both shots are of a rocky outcrop known as Eagles Nest, taken in the early morning.

View from my front garden on an early December morning. Full image with only a modest histogram correction.

How is a landscape formed? To learn more about that, I started a hobby study of geology after my retirement. And I traded my home from the dull Dutch countryside for a more exciting spot in Italy. Roughly above the virtual pivot point of the Alps and the Apennines.

Newbie question: Does a full image upload make sense on this forum? Or is it just a waste of bandwidth?
