Last year, I took a photo workshop with acclaimed National Geographic Photographer Frans Lanting at his Santa Cruz, California studio. We went on a variety of field trips around the area to learn how he composes shots. It was definitely an awesome workshop where I learned a ton about composition, lighting, and camera techniques. I took this photo in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park on a walk with Frans and the rest of the group. He actually held the reflector for me. For a handheld shot with no flash, it turned out great. It was one of my favorite photos from the workshop especially because I had one of the worlds best wildlife photographers helping me grab the shot.
Shot handheld with A7RIII and Sigma 70mm Art Macro lit with natural light bounced by reflector.
