Big Bird from the Muppets, yes, 1/100 probably fine. Big bird like an ostrich or an emu, not so much - they can move fairly quickly :)
Big Bird is from Sesame Street. You get to keep your childhood since Sesame Street and the Muppets would have been exported to you.
Would you really call an ostrich/emu moving at 9.8m/s2 flight?

You mention a very specific acceleration: 9.8 m/s2 - that sounds like a plummet more than flight ;):unsure::ROFLMAO:

I’ve tried to photograph a female ostrich dancing, and you definitely need a higher shutter speed for that. 1/1000 wasn’t fast enough.
