This is a bird that for years I have been trying to get a good photo of. Typically Scarlet Tanagers like to hang out high in trees but this one was fairly kind and came down to say hello.

Beautiful - striking color contrast!

You seem to have a bounty of interesting & colorful wildlife nearby - I am jealous!

I would call this one "bird almost in flight" a juvenile peregrine falcon practicing, Torrey Pines State Park San Diego CA.

All the birds I posted recently should be/have past through your area. You should have the Indigo Bunting, Common Yellowthroat and more likely the Summer Tanager instead of the Scarlet.

Go here: https://ebird.org/hotspots zoom into your area and see what people have been finding at places around you and then do a little reading on them, download the Merlin app, go out use the Sound Id to help know what is around and search.

Looks like your new A1II is taking some mighty fine pictures there, David. (Although I'm sure you helped.... )

I need to get out more. I really want to see (and photograph) an Indigo Bunting. Such a striking shade of blue!
