I had an inkling to whip out the macro lens the other day in Malaysia.

Most of my Dragonflies and Butterflies are on the 200 600, but when in my garden they are easy targets for the macro/flash.

I took some bee shots today with the 50-400 as close as it would get, basically with the bee almost inside the lens hood! It will interesting to see how they turn out.

No I know you weren't. It's a valid point. A lot of the time you can't get close enough to use a Macro on them. I'm lucky enough to have a few Dragons in the garden at the moment, so have some macros of them too, and the butterflies are obsessed with the Buddleia

I didn’t go in yet, but it’s huge. Looked interesting, so next time!

The whole area is begging for some maintenance, but I noticed that the orchid park is currently undergoing renovations, so that’s promising.
