Sony A9 III C 2 Button

How do I put single point autofocus onto the C 2 Button. There does not appear to be an option for that.

I don’t think Sony supports “single-point” auto-focus, but extra-small spot (XS) would be the closest.

You set that as a Focus Area.

You can set a custom button to override current settings while it’s held down, but I’m not an expert on that part. Or you could switch the current Focus Area to XS. Do you want to have it on XS only while holding the button, or do you want to switch it by pressing the button?

I would like for it to remain in a single point focus mode without holding the button down. It really doesn't make any difference which one it is. I use it to photograph birds that are bathing, photographing through a small area, and it's the quickest way to regain focus if the autofocus system goes wonky. When I look at all of the options for the C 2 button, I just don't see anywhere that an autofocus mode is available. I know that I'm missing something, but don't know what.
