Comet Watch

Has anyone managed to photograph Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) or C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) yet?

I'm waiting for SWAN to get higher up in the southern sky (around the 19th or 20th) and I'll give it a go. Ditto for Lemmon in the west.

Weather is getting cooler down here in FL. If the conditions are right, I might go take a look, though I'm not sure I have the right gear to make it worth the trip.

I went out the last few nights to look and no dice.

Just too much light pollution here in NoVa to allow capturing magnitude 9+ objects.

Same here in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of cloud cover.

Well, I DID manage a horrifically bad image of 2025/Lemon before it dropped below the treeline, but I won't waste the bandwidth here. Yup, that bad.



I continue to be tremendously frustrated at the seemingly near impossibility of achieving anything close to focus! Interestingly, the A1II is much more difficult to focus (at least to me) than the Canon R5II and my Nikon Z8. I need lots more practice, that's for sure.
